If you want to register on IREPS (Indian Railways E-Procurement System), then you need a DSC. Now, some people may ask – what is DSC? So let me explain in very simple words.
What is DSC?
DSC means Digital Signature Certificate. It is like your online signature. Just like how we sign on paper, same way DSC is used to sign online documents. Without it, you cannot register on IREPS. It also keeps your data safe and proves you are the real person.
Why we need DSC for IREPS?
IREPS is used by Indian Railways to buy things, give contracts, and do tender work. If you are a contractor or supplier and want to take part in railway tenders, then you must register there. But without DSC, you cannot complete your registration.
Which DSC to use for IREPS?
Not all DSCs work. You have to use the Class 3 DSC. This is required by IREPS.
Also, make sure your DSC has these:
- For Signing Only or Sign & Encrypt – Both can work, but best is Sign & Encrypt.

After Getting DSC, What Next?
- Plug in the DSC token in your computer.
- Go to ireps registration portal for vendor/ contractor
- Click on “New Vendors/Suppliers Registration”.
- Fill all details.
- Use your DSC to sign and complete registration.
Some Tips:
- Always keep DSC valid. It expires in 1 or 2 years.
- Renew it before expiry.
- Install DSC driver on your computer before using.
